Terms of Service

1. Scope

These terms govern your use of Tournament Scan (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to them.

These terms are published in Japanese and English only. They apply to you even if you use the Service in another language.

2. Accounts

• Creating and editing a tournament requires signing in with a Google account. Viewing a tournament does not require an account.
• You may not create an account if you are under 13 years old, or under 16 years old if you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom.
• You are responsible for your account. Do not let others use it.

3. Pricing

Creating tournaments, managing participants, drawing matchups, and entering and confirming results are free and unlimited. Printing the bracket (with its QR code) is also free, but the sheet carries a “Powered by Tournament Scan” watermark.

The following features require a per-tournament pass (JPY 500, tax included, valid for three months from purchase):

• Removal of the watermark from printed sheets
• Choice of paper size, orientation and score display when printing
• Certificate generation and PDF export
• Removal of advertising
• A raised limit on image imports

4. Pass validity and refunds

A pass applies only to the tournament it was purchased for. It is not an account-wide subscription.

After the three-month period, printed sheets carry the watermark again, paper and certificate options stop working, and advertising resumes. Your tournament data is not deleted, and viewing, result entry and watermarked printing remain free. You may buy another pass for the same tournament.

Because a pass becomes usable immediately on purchase, we do not offer refunds after payment completes. This does not apply where a technical fault on our side prevented us from delivering the feature.

5. Responsibilities of organizers and collaborators

• Before entering participant names or other details, obtain any consent required from the participants themselves (or their guardians, where they are minors).
• Making a tournament public means participant names and results become visible to anyone. Choosing the visibility is the organizer's responsibility.
• Make sure that images you upload do not infringe copyright or other rights.
• Requests from participants to remove or correct their details are handled by the organizer in the first instance.

6. Prohibited conduct

• Anything unlawful or contrary to public order and morals
• Impersonating another person
• Infringing the rights of others, including copyright, likeness rights, and privacy
• Posting tournaments that do not exist, or using the Service to harass or expose people
• Interfering with the operation of the Service, including excessive automated access
• Invalid clicks on advertising or artificially inflating impressions
• Copying, modifying, or reverse engineering the Service

7. Reports and enforcement

We accept reports about public tournaments. After reviewing a report we may hide a tournament, delete data, or suspend an account where we consider it necessary.

We do not promise advance notice of such measures or disclosure of the reasoning in individual cases.

8. Disclaimer

• The Service is provided as is. We do not warrant fitness for a particular purpose or uninterrupted availability.
• We are not liable for damages arising from interruption, data loss, or delay.
• Disputes about how a tournament is run, or about its results, are to be resolved between the parties involved.
• Where we are liable in connection with a paid pass, our liability is limited to the amount paid for the tournament concerned.

9. Changes to the Service

We may change the Service or stop providing it. If we discontinue it, we will give notice in advance where possible.

10. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any dispute concerning the Service is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of 《運営者の所在地を管轄する地方裁判所》 as the court of first instance.

11. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we will post the updated text and its revision date on this page.
